Gemma

Gemma was born and raised in Oregon with two big dogs as older siblings. She has spent her life surrounded by animals from dogs and cats to chinchillas and african clawed frogs and credits her introduction to veterinary medicine to a stray cat she and her now husband adopted in 2016. Gemma started her career as an assistant and quickly fell in love with surgery and behavior. In 2019 she started her associates degree in veterinary technology at Portland Community College and graduated in 2021. In spring of 2022, Gemma passed her national boards and is now a Certified Veterinary Technician. Gemma joined Guardian in the summer of 2021 after meeting the doctors during a clinical rotation and can often be found laying on the floor with nervous or worried dogs, or talking about training and behavior modification.
